Brilliant, no flesh on that bone. Todays so called Spirituality has become a great business buying into the illusion of self improvement. Thanks Robert

Thank you Robert, so glad to have found you. Every word hits the mark, I read and absorb it like lungs absorb air, like a fish in water, like a gliding bird, everything just is. And nothing more. And so much...

I laughed out loud at some of your responses. It is so freeing. A little scary.....I wanted to tell dude (who wrote you) to get some animals. Like maybe mules.

Incisive, as always. Bracing. A deep dive into a cold pool. Many thanks!

"In each moment, we are what we are: perceptions, feelings, and thoughts. That is all one ever has—myself right now. Like it or not, this is it."

No punches pulled, this article was excellent. Thanks.

I feel like I just read everything I need to ever read again. Something to contemplate. Thank you Robert.

Thanks Robert. Wondering if it’s necessary to often compare “yourself” to others and promote your book? It could be necessary, just genuinely curious. Much love

I am not clear on what you are asking., Christina. Are you saying you want me to not mention my books or comment on the hypnotic aspects of spiritual teaching?

I mention my books because I want interested people to know about them and perhaps read them.

If spiritual teachers are referenced in a question, I feel it is important to point out that if you want that, you don't want me. I want no one to confuse what I am saying with any of that dogma.

Hi Robert, every morning right as I wake up,I feel a very unpleasant sensation and a strong desire for my life to be different, I wish I were happy and satisfied. It hurts.Like you say, I'm stuck with having to deal with these thoughts and feelings. Realizing this doesn't help much, at least for now, but it helps to read your words, thank you for writing.

Since I can’t help myself one more quote from Niargadatta “you are the absence of the presence of the absence”.

I have no idea what that means. Sounds like gobbledygook to me.

Like all the comments I have just read I am grateful to have been exposed to you. I have one question or “disagreement” with you which may simply be semantic. When you speak about awareness my understanding, with the caveat that any intellectual “understanding” is never the truth but merely a point of view or opinion. That said, as I understand awareness it is totally impersonal. It is the emptiness that allows form to exist. It is also the emptiness that all living creatures share not something that is unique to human beings. Nisargadatta said that human consciousness is the same as an insect’s. I’m paraphrasing but you get the idea. Not the content of consciousness but the consciousness itself. When the individual dies so does the consciousness since it needs a vehicle to exist. Another paraphrase of something Nisargadatta has reported to have stated. Death then is more than likely like going into a deep sleep and never waking. Awareness then is an aspect of the Life Force itself and not at all personal or something you can own or use. I personally don’t like the term witness because it sounds too esoteric and special. It also is clear to me, the me that doesn’t exist lol, that the so-called ego is part and parcel of the living organism and not something that can be destroyed. This point of view is to me the great leveler. All life is unique but in no way special. The great mystery that will forever be unsolved. Not by science or so called spirituality. This is the awakening that Douglas Harding pointed to so clearly and was the actual catalyst to my so called awakening. Thoughts desires and actions are all spontaneous just like breathing or any other manifestation of life.

I’m paraphrasing but the point was as I understood it was that human consciousness or awareness was the same for all living creatures. Not the content which would be preposterous but the basic consciousness which he at times he referred to as a chemical. I will try to find the exact quote which will hopefully make more sense than my paraphrasing does
